Two lanes of westbound Interstate 70 in Denver were closed Thursday afternoon for emergency repair work.
The work, at Washington Street, was completed by 3:40 p.m., in advance of rush hour traffic, the Colorado Department of Transportation said.
Drivers had been encouraged to use alternate routes if possible.
Traffic in the area was delayed while the repairs on bridge joints was finished.
