Breck beer fest
The sixth annual Breckenridge Spring Beer Festival is April 6. From 12 to 5 p.m., the day features three live bands and samples from more than 30 breweries. A VIP ticket costs $75 and includes a lunch buffet, private selection of beer in the VIP room and a VIP entrance. General-admission tickets include unlimited tastings and costs $30. 877-864-0868
Rio Grande dino dig
The T-Rex Express, the Rio Grande Scenic Railroad’s dinosaur dig, is April 6 in Alamosa. Passengers will travel to a special dig site to unearth real dinosaur fossils and listen to park rangers from Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve give presentations about fossils and bones. Train tickets begin at $15.
Palisade honey bee fest
The sixth annual Palisade International Honey Bee Festival is April 11-12. This outdoor celebration includes street vendors, children’s events, live entertainment and educational exhibits.
Durango bluegrass jam
The Durango Bluegrass Meltdown is April 11-13. The weekend features regional and local bluegrass bands jamming at venues throughout Durango, a songwriter’s showcase, and an old-time barn dance. Prices vary.
