DENVER—A mental health proposal inspired by the Aurora movie theater shooting awaits the governor’s signature in Colorado.
A bill to give mental health providers expanded authority to report threats to places like movie theaters and schools was approved 32-0 in the state Senate on Wednesday.
The proposal already passed the House.
Currently, mental health professionals have a duty to report threats directed at specific persons. But it’s unclear if the same duty applies when a threat is directed at a location.
