While high and off-colored streams are producing for those working dark nymphs tight to the shore, Clear Creek is a good option. Up north, Horsetooth is producing good numbers of smallmouth, lots of trout and the occasional walleye. Jerkbaits are a good choice. Smaller urban ponds continue to produce lots of bass as the spawn approaches. Please release spawning fish. Crankbaits and plastics, such as lizards, are a good choice for bass. Trout anglers are finding fast action at Evergreen, Georgetown and Pinewood, thanks in part to recent stockings. While most baits are working, a fly and bubble with a hare’s ear nymph is very effective. Catfishing is starting to pick up. Many baits will produce, but cutbait (fish) tend to catch bigger cats.
