
1 Disturbance. On May 11, officers from the Edgewater and Mountain View police departments responded to King Soopers, 1725 Sheridan Blvd., regarding a disturbance. A 36-year-old man was issued a summons and jailed for resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, destruction of property and shoplifting after violently and physically resisting the security officer at King Soopers and the police officers.
2 Jeep stolen. Sometime between May 5 and May 6, a 1994 white Jeep Cherokee was stolen from a driveway at a residence in the 2500 block of Harlan Street, Edgewater. The vehicle was subsequently involved in a hit-and-run property damage accident at Interstate 76 and Pecos Boulevard on May 7 and impounded by the Colorado State Patrol.
3 Smoking while driving. A Lakewood police officer pulled over the driver of 2004 Dodge Ram on May 2 in the 7200 block of West Virginia Avenue for failure to use a turn signal. The officer noticed an odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle, and confiscated a glass smoking pipe and .9 grams of marijuana. The man had been smoking marijuana in the vehicle while his two juvenile children were present. He was issued a summons.
4 A bad trip. A man was arrested April 30 after causing a disturbance and damage to a room at Golden Hours Motel, 11080 W. Colfax Ave., Lakewood. The man was extremely belligerent and incoherent due to consuming an unknown amount of psychedelic mushrooms. West Metro Fire transported the man to St. Anthony’s Hospital for evaluation.
