There are about six hours until is scheduled to take the stage at the Ogden Theatre, but that’s no guarantee that the punk-hop band will actually perform. As fans know very well, Death Grips is when it comes to actually playing shows. It’s never certain if the band is together, is breaking up, is actually touring or releasing music or just on hiatus.
Let’s take you through a little bit of the band’s more recent history:
May 5, 2012: One week after , Death Grips cancels said world tour, which included a June stop at Denver’s Larimer Lounge. At this point it’s not clear when they’ll EVER tour again,
October 3, 2012: Looks like the tour is back on with a Denver show.
Nov. 1, 2012: Death Grips is
Nov. 23, 2012: Death Grips play the Larimer Lounge! But it’s their last Denver show for a while…
May 20, 2013: Death Grips announces a North American tour with stops at Lollapalooza and FYF.
Aug. 3, 2013: The band show and does not play their festival set the next day.
Aug. 25, 2013: Death Grips actually plays FYF!
Oct. 16, 2013: But then they cancel their scheduled Fun Fun Fun Fest set.
March 15, 2014: Then the band announces a tour opening for Nine Inch Nails and Soundgarden — including a stop at Red Rocks Amphitheatre
July 2, 2014: A month before the tour kicks off, Death Grips and canceled all live shows.
March 24, 2015: After dropping a double LP, on June 24…
June 20, 2015: Death Grips plays
June 23, 2015: Riot Fest adds Death Grips to its 2015 lineup.
June 24, 2015: We wont know for sure until Death Grips takes the stage tonight. EDIT:
