Despite grumblings around the Internet about the lack of star power at Lollapalooza 2014, the highlights out-shined the past couple of years with the memorable moments being one of those, “I was at Lolla when ___ joined ___ on stage,” surreal type situations.

blew the hinges off of the weekend when he was graciously joined by Chi-town’s own, . With a new album coming up soon, we can only hope this appearance hints at an R Kelly and Chance collaboration.

doesn’t really need assistance when performing live. Especially when the very capable Shady Records’ boss man has an extremely deep repertoire. The sultry songstress, , offered her assistance to Slim Shady not on one, not two, but three tracks that came to fruition. For those of you that read Reverb’s last week and missed out, we hate to say we kind of told you so.

Kings of Leon “Dancing on My Own” (Robyn cover)

have been on a recent slide as of late with band tiffs and substance abuse. Their last album, “Mechanical Bull,” failed to connect with fans like previous efforts. It’s quite possible that the Followhill gang redeemed themselves with a muted and stripped down version of Robyn’s club banger, “Dancing on My Own.”

Outkast “Roses” and “the Whole World”

Andre 3000 and Big Boi brought their reunion tour to Chicago as kings of the summer music festival circuit. Despite previous less than positive live reports from Coachella, appear in full force and ready to finish out the summer strong. Look for the ATLiens to come to as part of the Mad Decent party later this month.

and dueled in Chicago to represent the electronic front for world domination. Both sets included bright seizure inducing lights and intense dancing, but Calvin Harris is everything that is right about the EDM scene; great production and next level bpm execution.
