Highland fling

Scotfest, the Longs Peak Scottish-Irish Highland Festival, is Sept. 4-7 in Estes Park. The largest Scottish Irish festival in the West will feature bagpipes and drums, Highland and Irish dancing, jousting and athletic competitions, Celtic music and food, and much more. Vail’s Wheels and Wings

Hosted by the Vail Automotive Classic, the fifth annual Wheels and Wings show is Sept. 5-7 in Vail. More than 250 vehicles will be on display, along with motorcycles and aircrafts, including single-engine pistons, jets and war birds. VIP tickets range from $55 to $85, and general admission tickets are $5-$40.

Fiber arts

Salida’s Fiber Festival is Sept. 6-7. Modeled after the Taos Wool Festival, this weekend features more than 30 spinner and fiber vendors, plus a silent auction and activity tents to help you learn a new skill or craft.

Cortez craft beer

The 16th anual Harvest Beer Festival in Cortez is Sept. 6. The $25 admission gets you unlimited tastings of local, hand-crafted ales. Tickets are $15 for non-drinkers, or free for those 15 and under. A $5 discount will apply to tickets purchased ahead of time.
