1 Food fight at McDonald’s. An employee meeting Aug. 14 at McDonald’s, 5235 Wadsworth Blvd., Arvada, turned ugly when an employee began throwing food and yelling obscenities after a manager wrote her up for unauthorized shift trading. She was issued a summons for disorderly conduct.
2 Change-stealing thieves have key. Surveillance footage Aug. 16 showed two suspects in a blue PT Cruiser with no front bumper using a key to open a cleaning machine at Glo Car Wash, 6315 Sheridan Blvd.,Arvada, to steal change. The same thing happened two weeks prior.
3 Church sprinklers destroyed. A cleaning lady arrived at Abundant Life Christian Center, 7100 Wadsworth Blvd., Arvada, on Aug. 14 to find a water geyser shooting out of the ground. Someone had smashed a protective cage and cut valve lines in an attempt to steal the sprinkler system’s flowback device. Total damage was estimated at up to $2,600.
4 Xcel scam continues. An employee at a salon at 7841 Wadsworth Blvd. in Arvada received a call Aug. 19 from a man identifying himself as an Xcel Energy bill collector before demanding two months of late payments or her power would be shut off. She hung up and called Xcel, who said they had received multiple reports of the scam.
5 Truck temporarily stolen. On Aug. 18, a man returned home from work in the 6100 block of West 77th Place, Arvada, to find his truck had been damaged when someone had taken it that morning and parked it before he got home. No suspect was identified.
