1 Discarded loot. A woman reported that someone stole her purse and other items from her unlocked car Aug. 12. The victim said she found her shoes, her baby blanket and a veil scattered down the street in the 19800 block of Montview Drive.

2 Robbed in class. An instructor at Common Grounds Golf Course at10300 E. Golfers Way called police because his cellphone was stolen from the golf shop while he was outside teaching a golf lesson Aug. 13. The victim said his phone was turned off so he couldn’t track it.

3 Foiled escape. Security at Target at 1400 S. Ironton St. called police after they stopped a man from stealing more than $1,000 in merchandise Aug. 18. The man loaded his cart with various items and tried to wheel it outside, but security was waiting for him.

4 Forgot to lock up. A woman went on a camping trip and left the screen door to her home in the 11200 block of East Alameda Avenue unlocked. When she returned Aug. 10, she noticed that someone stole $900 from her dresser drawer.

5 Second guessing. A woman called police to her home in the 4900 block of South Elkhart Court because someone rummaged through her car in her garage Aug. 6. The woman said she closed the garage door the night before, but it was open when she woke up.

6 Thirsty thieves. A clerk at the Conoco gas station at 1470 N. Airport Blvd. called police because two women ran in and stole a 12-pack of soda Aug. 18. The officer went to the suspects’ home based on their license plate, but no one was home.
