“: Word from Andy O’Brien summer camp: NMac is significantly bigger, stronger.”

— Evan Rawal (@ScrubDiggity)

Word from those who have indeed seen Nathan MacKinnon recently up in Vail, where he training with his trainer Andy O’Brien – whose other clients are some guys named Sidney Crosby, Matt Duchene, John Tavares and others – is that he’s drawn the most raves not only for his skill but newly added strength and size.

From one working with , 87, , Tavares others: “He’s gone from boy to man–1st step even more explosive now.”

— Gare Joyce (@GareJoyceNHL)

If Gare Joyce says it, I’ll believe it – though I have yet to actually see MacKinnon yet this summer. Crosby, MacKinnon, Duchene, Tavares and others are still up in Vail, so if you go up there you might just see some pretty good talent.

Joyce has and knows his way around a hockey rink, so I’m sure he has some pretty good sources on this.

MacKinnon talked about wanting to get stronger in his lower body, and that apparently are where the biggest gains have been made. It’s a pretty nice thing to think about for Avs fans, isn’t it, the thought of MacKinnon taking a big leap to the next level already maybe.

The Avs said they might release the training camp roster and schedule today, but it didn’t happen. I imagine it has to be done either Thursday or Friday. Stay tuned.
