GREELEY, Colo. (AP) — A stop sign with a flashing light is planned at a Weld County intersection where two people died in a crash Monday.
It was the third fatal collision there since 2009. The intersection currently has a stop sign but no light.
The Greeley Tribune reported Wednesday (http://tinyurl.com/mvsc74z ) the Colorado Department of Transportation is moving quickly to install the equipment.
Authorities said 33-year-old Brandy Yates and 9-year-old Paradise Yates were killed when their pickup collided with a tractor-trailer rig at the intersection of Colorado 14 and County Road 31. Authorities say Brandy Yates, who was pregnant, was driving.
Another passenger in the pickup, 24-year-old Devin Robbins of Greeley, suffered serious injuries. The tractor-trailer driver had minor injuries.
The State Patrol has said it doesn’t appear the tractor-trailer driver was at fault.
