Arvada police are searching for man who stabbed another customer late Friday night in an Arvada liquor store after an argument erupted between strangers, authorities say.
The victim, who was stabbed four times, was taken to a local hospital where he is listed in stable condition, said Jill McGranahan, Arvada police spokeswoman.
“Any time you have a stabbing its a pretty serious assault,” McGranahan said Saturday.
The suspect and a woman described as a person of interest fled shortly after the 9:59 p.m. knifing, she said.
The suspect is described as an Hispanic man in his 20s, who is between 5-feet-11 and 6-feet and weighs about 175 pounds. McGranahan said. The man was wearing a black hoodie.
Police are also searching for a woman who participated in the argument at Vineland Liquors, 8770 Wadsworth Blvd., and fled on foot with the suspect, McGranahan said.
The thinly built woman, believed to be 19 or 20, had long black hair and something written in cursive handwriting on her neck. She was wearing a black and white dress. She is between 5-feet-7 and 5-feet-8.
“She was definitely involved in the verbal confrontation,” she said. “She probably knows who he is.”
The suspect and a woman began arguing with a man who had entered the store with friends, McGranahan said. The couple and the victim and his friends were not known to each other, she said.
The suspect began arguing with the victim and quickly hit the victim with his fists. The suspect fled, but quickly returned to the store with a knife and stabbed the victim four times, McGranahan said.
