Castle Rock landed at the No. 4 spot on Money magazine’s “50 Best Places to Live in America” list for cities with populations between 50,000 and 300,000.

The Douglas County seat was the only Colorado community in its size class to make the top 10, which Money released this week.

“Castle Rock residents know how blessed we are to live here,” Mayor Paul Donahue said. “We’ve worked together to open a new hospital, and soon we will open a brand new park. Still, we hold on to our heritage and our small-town feel.”

Other Colorado communities to make the list were Centennial at No. 13 and Boulder at No. 23.

Money magazine started with a list of 780 cities in 50,000 to 300,000 range. Money looked at the local economy, housing market, schools, health care and more to form its rankings.
