Vocalist is parting ways with folk and indie-pop band , the band

“After 8 years of working with the wonderful Esme Patterson, we recently decided to split paths,” the band posted. “Our decision was amicable and we’re all looking forward to what’s next.”

In 2012, Patterson embarked on her own solo career, which has since seen the artist sign to Denver indie label Greater Than Collective and release two albums. Her second solo album, “Woman to Woman,” was released in April of 2014.

Patterson’s last show with Paper Bird is Friday Sept. 26.

In the post, the band also announced that vocalist has joined the band. Aikins has worked with Ark Life, These United States and supported acts such as Fleet Foxes, Grizzly Bear and others. She’ll be joining the band on its October tour.
