Getting your player ready...

JP Gibson was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in 2012. On Monday night, the 5-year-old free agent signed a one-day deal with Utah Jazz president Randy Rigby and promptly took the court to show off his skills in the team’s annual preseason intrasquad scrimmage at EnergySolutions Arena.

JP’s parents, Josh and Megan, as well as his 2-year-old sister, Elsie, watched from the stands as as he crossed up his newest teammates and even threw down a two-handed dunk (with a little help from center Rudy Gobert).

In just a few minutes of play, JP won over the crowd (and many others across the country). Perhaps a contract extension is in order?

Welcome to the Jazz, JP!
