After Colorado State’s Wednesday practice, Rams coach Jim McElwain said that running back Treyous Jarrells is “questionable” for the Saturday game at Nevada because of the sore knee that prevented him from playing last weekend against Tulsa.
McElwain said running back Dee Hart did practice, but still is banged up. “I probably could have still raced him today, felt pretty good about it,” the coach said.
And while Garrett Grayson is expected to play, his throwing in practice again was limited because of a bruised shoulder. He followed a similar routine last week heading into the Tulsa game after he suffered the injury at Boston College. “He was really good on the nerf and the red rubber balls,” McElwain said.
The good news for the Rams was that tackle Jordan Finley, the junior college transfer who required knee surgery in the spring and hasn’t yet played, “is ready to roll,” McElwain said. Sam Carlson will continue to start at right tackle, but Finley will be available and seems likely to get some playing time against Nevada. “Sam’s doing great, but it will be great to get some depth back,” McElwain said.
CSU is 4-1 going in to the Saturday game, but 0-1 in the Mountain West and this is the first of seven consecutive league games for the Rams to finish out the regular season.
