Rain and cool temperatures are expected to continue Friday in Denver before sunny weekend weather moves into the metro area, according to the National Weather Service.

There is a 60 percent chance of showers throughout the day before a mostly cloudy and chilly night.

A winter weather advisory remains in effect for much of the Western Slope on Friday until noon in most areas.

A winter storm warning is in effect until noon for areas above 10,000 feet along the Front Range, the service said.

Forecasters are calling for a high of 74 on Saturday before rains move back into the region on Sunday.
