Woody Woodpecker would go crazy this weekend: the Colorado Carvers Club presents the 40th annual Woodcarving Show, Competition and Sale 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 11 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 12 at Jefferson County Fairgrounds, 15200 W. 6th Ave. in Golden. Meanwhile back in Denver, PalletFest, the inaugural upcycling festival in Sculpture Park at Speer Boulevard and Champa Street (look for the two 50-foot dancers) is 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Oct. 11 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 12. The festival is a showcase of sustainability with home and garden items, a pallet maze, a fashion show, competitions, food, beer and live music. Admission is free.
