Police in Aurora are investigating reports of a suspicious man who contacted two teenage girls on separate occasions last week.
The man first contacted a 17-year-old girl on Thursday afternoon in the area of East Mexico Avenue and South Idalia Street. The teen agreed to get in the man’s car after a brief conversation, police said. The man then drove the girl to a store where she became uncomfortable and asked to be driven home, which the man obliged.
The man is believed to then have contacted a 13-year-old girl on Saturday afternoon near the intersection of South Blackhawk Street and East Iliff Avenue. The man “approached her and placed her in a bear hug” before the girl kicked the man and ran away, police said.
Police say the suspect is a black man between 25-30 years-old who has a receding hairline and is about six-feet-tall. The man smells of cigarettes and was driving a four-door sedan, possibly gold in color, according to police.
Anyone with information about the cases is asked to call police at 303-739-6141. Anyone who sees a man matching the suspect’s description is asked to call 911.
