1 Man cursed at for being hit by truck. While recovering at St. Anthony Hospital, a man told police that he was clipped by a truck Sept. 25 while crossing the road at West 68th Avenue and Sheridan Boulevard in Arvada. He slammed his hands on the hood of the truck out of frustration before the driver cursed him and drove off. He told police he was in pain but nothing was broken due to his “high pain threshold.”

2 Sweet-talking shoplifter. A man walked into Sports Authority at 7400 W. 52nd Ave. in Arvada on Sept. 26 and grabbed two pairs of shoes and a sweatshirt valued at $205 as he talked to employees before walking out with the merchandise.

3 Golf game ruined. A golfer left his bag and clubs valued at $1,000 by an apple tree at West Woods Golf Course, 6655 Quaker St., Arvada, on Sept. 29 while he looked for his uncle. The clubs were stolen.

4 Mystery burglary. A man returned home from a two-week trip to find his house in the 6000 block of Wadsworth Boulevard in Arvada burglarized. A female friend watching the house had the only key, no signs of forced entry were found, the place was trashed and prescription pills were missing. The victim said he didn’t think his friend would steal from him.

5 Restraining order ignored. A man’s trip to a bar in the area of West 80th Avenue and Ames Street in Arvada was cut short when police observed him jaywalking and asked to search his backpack. He was arrested on a restraining order violation for drinking and possessing alcohol. A clear glass drug pipe was also found and booked into evidence.
