1 Injury to insult. An employee at the Conoco gas station at 14501 E. Colfax Ave. called police because a man walked into the store, stole a comb and then flicked a lit cigarette at her, hitting her chest. Police arrested him Oct. 1.

2 Superhero sunglasses. A man found his son’s stolen car in the 13300 block of East Montview Boulevard Oct. 4. He called police to record the stolen items, which included a pair of Iron Man sunglasses that he was looking for.

3 The computer room. Police were called to the 1200 block of North Granby Street because a woman came home and saw that someone broke in and stole a laptop, desktop computer and iPad from her office. Police noticed that the back window was unlocked and the screen was ripped.

4 Suspicious stumbling. A patrolling police officer noticed an unsteady woman looking in people’s backyards near East Alameda Avenue and South Peoria Street. The woman was drunk and told police she was running from someone who was following her Sept. 26. Police waited but didn’t find anyone.

5 Time to break up. A woman called police to her home in the 700 block of North Havana Street because her drunken boyfriend threatened to hit her for coming home late Sept. 28. The suspect punched through her bedroom wall and was arrested.

6 Going nowhere. A man who lives in the 300 block of North Sable Boulevard went out to his car to leave for work Sept. 29. He called police when he saw that someone put his car up on cinder blocks and stole all four tires.
