Interview with Simon Zryd, productivity coach
Q: How did you get involved in this business?
A: During my late teenage years, I discovered a feeling of dissatisfaction with life, something I didn’t quite understand since there was nothing missing, materially speaking. I started a journey of meditation and serious soul-searching, which ultimately led me to leave Europe and move to the United States. Here I have found incredible mentors who taught me not only key principles of success, but also to follow my heart and passion. The company Success and Communication, a coaching and consulting company, was originally founded in 2001 in California by two of my mentors. After they decided to retire in 2011, I jumped at the opportunity to continue the business here in Denver.
Q: What distinguishes you from other businesses in your category?
A: What makes Success and Communication unique is that our approach combines traditional business consulting with breakthrough coaching, using a three-pronged approach: 1. We have a state-of-the-art online business academy that is available to our clients 24/7. 2. Our clients’ access to the academy allows us to spend the valuable one-to-one coaching time on truly exploring and overcoming the challenges that the business owner faces. 3. We have developed a network with highly skilled professionals, local and national, who can help implement the practical growth strategies that we discuss.
Q: What do you like best about your line of work?
A: I get to work with successful and dedicated people every day. One of the main reasons someone hires a coach is because they are very determined and dedicated to reach their goals. The most rewarding moments for me are when my clients experience a true breakthrough and accomplish something they have never done before.
Q: What is your business’ biggest challenge?
A: Besides our online academy, and some of our standard courses, the main service we provide (coaching) is intangible. This means that the value proposition for every client is unique. We also need to make sure that the coach and the client are a perfect fit. This takes extra time on the front end, but, at the same time, it is the foundation for having a successful, result-producing relationship.
Q: Something people might be surprised to learn about you or your business:
A: There are still a lot of people who think that having a coach is a sign of weakness, when in reality every person who is truly successful at something knows about the importance of having a coach, mentor or trainer. I never doubt that my clients can reach their goals. What we are working on is how big of an impact they are willing to make. That’s usually where people play small and, therefore, struggle in their current environment. Our job is to create a context in which a person can fully express their passion, be successful and, in the process, impact the world in a positive way.
