1 Mailbox mischief. On Oct. 8, a Douglas County Sheriff’s deputy responded to the 10200 block of Charissglen Circlein Highlands Ranch where someone had inserted a piece of metal in a man’s mailbox lock. He said the same thing happened to him two months ago and he didn’t know why.
2 Shoplifters flee scene. On Oct. 6, a deputy was dispatched to King Soopers,4000 Red Cedar Drive in Highlands Ranch, where a man had come in and stolen what was believed to be several large beer cans. Other men with him were spotted but they dumped their items before leaving the store.
3 Gazebo fire. On Oct. 5, a deputy responded to the area of Roxborough Drive and Spotted Fawn Run in Roxborough where someone had set fire to a gazebo storing mailboxes. The fire went out on its own by the time the deputy got there.
4 Skipping the tab. On Sept. 26, a deputy responded to Lodo’s Bar and Grill, 8545 S. Quebec St., where three men who had ordered food and beers took off without paying. They were not found.
5 Jewelry box missing. On Sept. 26, a deputy was dispatched to the 800 block of Meadowrose Lane in Castle Pines where a woman had moved a box of jewelry during a remodel and found it missing. The remodeler could not be reached.
6 Coins stolen. On Sept.26, a deputy talked to a man who services an air machine at a Conoco gas station,9405 S. University Blvd., who said someone had drilled out the lock to the money vault door, causing $300 in damage to the lock and stole $200 in coins.
