1 Scuffle at Buffalo Rose. Golden Police found two men running down Prospector’s Alley the night of Sept. 27. They first said someone told them to run, but then said they were involved in a fight at Buffalo Rose, 1119 Washington St., Golden. They said a group of men picked a fight with them over a girl at the bar. They were released but police were later told by witnesses that one of the runaways threw the first punch.
2 Cinder block theft. On Oct. 2, Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies saw a man loading cinder blocks into his vehicle at King Soopers, 1173 Bergen Parkway, Evergreen. When asked if he had permission to take them, he said, “No, but I’m willing to pay for them.” Deputies asked store management if the cinder blocks were for sale, but they said no. The man was issued a summons for theft.
3 Mysterious package. Golden Police went to the 1000 block of Sixth Street, Golden, on Sept. 27 on a report of a mysterious package. Two former residents said they were packing for their move when they found a box containing a foil-wrapped rectangular package, later found to be marijuana. The box had been mailed to the address, but nobody knew the recipient or the sender. The case was forwarded to the U.S. Postal Inspector.
4 Agitated owner reports aggressive dog. Golden Police responded to Ulysses Park Dog Park, 1205 Ulysses St., Golden, on Sept. 26 when someone called to report an aggressive dog and a threat to shoot his dog. Witnesses at the dog park told police the reporting party regularly came to the park agitated and was the one who made the threat.
