Authorities in Lincoln County are searching for a missing elderly Arriba man.

Gene Ostrander,75, who officials say is showing signs of dementia, was last seen on Friday by a friend. Ostrander lives alone and was discovered missing on Sunday.

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office says Ostrander, who was last seeing wearing jeans, a “shiny belt buckle” and a U.S. Marine Corps baseball hat, does not have access to a vehicle.

“The sheriff’s office has put out ‘attempt to locate’ far and wide,” officials said in a news release on Wednesday.

The office hired two private planes on Tuesday to overfly the area between Genoa and Flagler with “negative results” and is still in the process of interviewing people that have interacted with Ostrander recently.

Anyone who sees Ostrander is asked to contact the nearest law enforcement agency.
