Broncos linebacker Lamin Barrow was fined $8,268 by the league for from the game Sunday against the New York Jets.

For a fifth-round rookie, that hurts.

“I can’t take any more of those,” Barrow said.

The infraction occurred with 36 seconds left in the third quarter. Barrow was blocking on a kickoff return by Andre “Bubba” Caldwell. As the play ended, players from both sides engaged in a skirmish. Barrow became entangled with a Jets player and threw a quick punch.

“He got under my helmet,” Barrow said. “And I reacted.”

Besides the unsportsmanlike penalty, Barrow was ejected. Barrow is the Broncos’ backup middle linebacker to Nate Irving, who has played in 19 defensive snaps this season. Barrow’s 119 special teams plays are third on the team to Steven Johnson (134) and Quinton Carter (132).
