The one-hour Citizens United film that accuses the political left of highjacking Colorado . Gov. John Hickenlooper released his funny reply, “Rocky Mountain Height” Saturday morning.

In the characteristically funny ad, a guy played by stand-up comedian and writer Adam Cayton-Holland has won the “Hang with Hickenlooper Raffle.” He has the governor doing chores — fetching a kite out of a tree, helping out in the kitchen and settling the score with some playground toughs.

“Your campaign says I can do whatever I want with you,” Clayton-Holland tells Hickenlooper in the 83-second spot. “Your biggest asset to me is you’re tall, so let’s go out and destroy these little dudes.”

“Alright,” Hickenlooper concedes. “But keep it clean.”

“I’ll try,” Clayton-Holland replies. “But no promises.”

An e-mail blast that went out to supporters Saturday explained the response this way:

If you’re like us, all the negative political ads on TV and the radio are probably leaving you with a strange yearning for commercials for products you can actually buy like toothpaste, insurance – even those cheesy infomercials.

John has vowed to never run a negative campaign ad, and he’s honoring that commitment this year, even in a very tight race.

Thatap why we’re proud to present our own video entitled “Rocky Mountain Height” a way for all of us to have a laugh despite the negative campaign ads our opponents are throwing at you.

So please enjoy a laugh on us: John and Denver comedian Adam Cayton-Holland put this video together. They probably had as much fun making it as you will watching it.
