Peyton Manning made history and the Broncos crushed the 49ers, 42-17, Sunday. But the ratings paled in comparison.

The telecast drew a 14.8 overnight rating on Sunday Night Football, down 15 percent from the Broncos-Colts “SNF” matchup in Week 7 last year.

However, Sunday’s game peaked at a 17.0 rating/25 share from 9:30 p.m. – 10 p.m. ET when Manning threw touchdown No. 509 to break Brett Favre’s all-time record.

Denver led all markets with a 47.1 rating/68 share for the telecast. Sacramento (26.8/42), San Francisco (26.1/46) Las Vegas (20.5/31) and Phoenix (20.4/33) followed.
