The Colorado State Patrol on Tuesday identified a man killed jogging along a road in Falcon on Saturday night after he was hit by a vehicle.

Michael Capote, 38, of Falcon, was killed when he was struck running along the east side of Eastonville Road with his back to approaching traffic, the patrol said.

The patrol identified the driver as an 18-year-old girl, also of Falcon, who was heading north in a 2005 Honda CRV.

“As the Honda approached (Capote), he abruptly turned left into the path of the vehicle,” the patrol said in a news release.

Capote was pronounced dead at the scene.

“While this crash remains under investigation, at this time there are no charges pending,” the release said.
