Avs coach Patrick Roy talking briefly about upcoming five home games, including two this week against San Jose (Tuesday) and the New York Islanders (Thursday):

Domestic violence charges against in a civil suit filed in Denver by his ex-girlfriend.

I filed a Jamie McGinn family story for Tuesday’s paper and online. McGinn, a former left wing for the San Jose Sharks, will likely play one of his little brothers, current Sharks left wing Tye McGinn, on Tuesday at the Pepsi Center. Jamie McGinn flew his parents and grandparents in from Fergus, Ontario, on Monday — and surprised Tye. A third McGinn brother, Brock, is a 2012 second-round draft pick of the Carolina Hurricanes. Fergus, population 19,000 in 2011, is obviously proud of the McGinn clan.

“Ty has an incredible story of how he’s got to this level and Brock — he got all the hand-me-downs, so he had to deal with all the junky equipment,” Jamie told me after Monday’s practice. “We’re all left wingers. Ty is the biggest one, I’m the second-biggest one and Brock’s the smallest. But I think Brock is definitely a good talent in this league. I think he has the most potential. He’s an all-around player but very gritty, can get underneath guys’ skin and can also play the game and put up points.”
