Fans waited what seemed like years for the release of J. Cole’s first full-length release “Cole World: The Sideline Story.” Now the Roc Nation break-out star is a household name. He’s toured all over the country and overseas and somehow has avoided the dreaded sophomore curse with the release of 2013’s “Born Sinner.” On that release we see how the Fayetteville, North Carolina MC rose to the top as one of the best young rap stars in the game. Now, he’s following up the success with his second album in as many years with “2014 Forest Hills Drive” in December.

Cole is taking a page from his Roc Nation boss, Jay-Z’s book by dropping in the fourth quarter on Dec. 9. The documentary that will accompany the album’s release takes you straight to the Carolinian’s hood. He meanders through his high school campus and talks about the first rhymes he spit in an impromptu cypher and crushing his opponent. We also see clips of a young J. Cole talking about Wu-tang Clan as an adorable fresh-faced youngster.
