Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Poco, Firefall, Manassas to be inducted into Colorado Music Hall of Fame

, , and will be the latest induction into the , the organization announced today.

The musicians will be welcomed into the CMHOF on Jan. 9 with a ceremony at the Paramount Theater. The induction concert will include performances from original members of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Poco and Firefall and a tribute to Stephen Stills and Manassas.

Folk-rock act Nitty Gritty Dirt Band moved to Denver from L.A. in 1972 the same year it released its iconic album, “Will the Circle be Unbroken.” It still continues to perform and record today with original members Jeff Hanna, John McEuen, Jimmie Fadden and Bob Carpenter.

Poco formed in the late ’60s when Richie Furay and Jim Messina recruited Denver-based musicians Rusty Young and George Grantham.

In 1974, Rick Roberts and guitarist Jock Bartley formed Firefall in Boulder. From 1976 through 1981 the soft rock band had six singles on the Top 40.

After writing much of his second solo album in Colorado, Stephen Stills formed the short-lived band Manassas in the early ’70s. It released two albums before disbanding, and afterward, Stills recorded his next two albums at Caribou Ranch in Colorado.

Chris Hillman, Richie Furay, producer Jim Mason and Steve Martin will also be honored on Jan. 9.

Past Colorado Music Hall of Fame inductees include John Denver, Harry Tuft, Barry Fey, the Astronauts, Sugarloaf, Flash Cadillac and Judy Collins.

Tickets for the induction concert go on sale at 10 a.m. on Nov. 21 and cost $39-$99.
