Average retail gasoline prices in Denver have fallen 5.8 cents a gallon in the past week averaging $2.86 a gallon on Sunday – 24.6 cents a gallon cheaper than a month ago.
The price in Denver compares to a national average of $2.82 a gallon. The national average is 41.4 cents a gallon lower than a year ago, according to
Patrick DeHaan, senior petroleum analyst for GasBuddy, said that gasoline prices are likely nearing a bottom, but the drivers will be able to buy gasoline over the holiday at comparatively reduced costs.
“As we begin Thanksgiving week, Americans are gearing up to hit the road, and when they do, they’ll be spending far less on their fuel bill than a year ago,” said DeHaan in a statement.
