Getting your player ready...
Ice fishing season is underway in the high country. Dillon, Officer’s Gulch, Georgetown and Evergreen reservoirs are seeing good numbers of anglers. Ice thickness is running from 3-6 inches, which is marginal, so use extreme caution if you go. Front Range waters that are capped still have relatively thin ice. Larger waters such as Boyd, Cherry Creek, Chatfield, Horsetooth, Carter and Lon Hagler all have open water and open boat ramps. Trout and walleye have been the best on these waters. Red Feather Lakes waters are sporting 4-6 inches of ice and fishing well. While most rivers are still open, expect flowing ice early in the day.
