Fort Collins’ Lauren Gregory keeps progressing. The Lambkins sophomore finished second on Saturday at the Midwest Regional of the Foot Locker Cross Country Championships in Kenosha, Wis.
Gregory completed the 3.1-mile (5k) course in 17 minutes, 27 seconds, which was a half-minute behind winner Anna Rohrer Mishawaka, Ind.
Already a two-time champion in Colorado’s Class 5A, Gregory next will head to Morley Field at Balboa Park in San Diego along with the top 10 boys and girls finishers in all four regional qualifiers.
The national championships will be held on Saturday, Dec. 13.
