Interview with Robert Clifton, designer

Q: How did you get involved in this business?

A: After spending 25 unfulfilled years in the civil construction industry, I saw an opportunity to realize a dream of business ownership while attending a trade show in Las Vegas. The World of Concrete trade show held in Las Vegas every winter showcases the latest in concrete technology. This is where I saw my future.

Q: What distinguishes you from other businesses in your category?

A: Perfection. I was raised by a father that taught me there were two ways to do something, a right way and a wrong way. He was the consummate perfectionist and so am I. We provide a high-quality, unique and fully customizable product for our clients.

Q: What do you like best about your line of work?

A: Freedom. Knowing that I am finally in control of my own destiny is by far the most satisfying aspect of business ownership. Second would be the satisfaction that comes with the look on our clients’ faces when we unveil the final product. Priceless!

Q: What is your business’ biggest challenge?

A: Marketing. We are in a very niche industry (decorative concrete) and therefore advertising is a challenge. We must find advertising vehicles that are not only visual but very descriptive and affordable as well.

Q: Something people might be surprised to learn about you or your business:

A: I am originally from Atlanta and am a veteran of our U.S. armed forces. Business ownership is a lifelong dream of mine and I am very appreciative of the opportunity that has been presented to me. Our full product line can be viewed at Bear Creek Design Center at 3540 Evergreen Parkway, Evergreen.
