Getting your player ready...

There were some recognizable names cut by major-league teams Tuesday, including Padres shortstop Everth Cabrera and New York Mets (and former Rockies) outfielder Eric Young Jr.

The Rockies, however, tendered 2015 contract offers to all of their arbitration-eligible players. The only member of their 40-man roster that was non-tendered was left-handed reliever Kraig Sitton.

Sitton, 26, is now a free agent. He went 4-8 with a 3.68 ERA in 48 relief appearances for Double-A Tulsa in 2014. He was a seventh-round pick out of Oregon State in the 2010 draft.

The move leaves the Rockies with 39 players on their 40-man major-league roster.

On Tuesday, the Rockies tendered offers to outfielder Drew Stubbs; right-handers Jhoulys Chacin, Jordan Lyles and Tyler Chatwood; catchers Wilin Rosario and Michael McKenry; and relievers Adam Ottavino and Rex Brothers.

Stubbs and Chacin are in their final seasons of arbitration eligibility. The other players are eligible for the first time.

Around baseball, Los Angeles Angels infielder Gordon Beckham, Oakland first baseman Kyle Blanks, Texas right-hander Alexi Ogando, New York Yankees left-hander David Huff, Cincinnati reliever Logan Ondrusek and St. Louis infielder Daniel Descalso were among the players let go.

Players and teams will file arbitration figures on Jan. 13 and exchange them on Jan. 16. If necessary, hearings take place from Feb. 1-21. Players and teams can come to an agreement at any time before a hearing takes place. If not, a three-judge panel will hear the case, with the player and club present, and assign either the team’s offer or the player’s request.
