talks: Community dialogue about race for kids

saturday. The History Colorado Center’s “RACE: Are We So Different?” is the right exhibit at the right time. The traveling show takes on issues of racism and has inspired a local conversation about inequality in the middle of the national outcry surrounding the shooting of a black teen by a white police officer in Ferguson, Mo. The exhibit’s accompanying community talks have brought out big crowds. This weekend, the center will add a second session of “How To Talk To Your Kids About Race.” (The first sold out.) The “interactive, self-reflective” workshop starts with an exhibit tour and ends with a discussion led by facilitator Dena Samuels. Sign up in advance on the website. 1 p.m. Saturday, History Colorado Center, 1200 Broadway. 303-866-4689 or . $25 adults, children free. Ray Mark Rinaldi
