Authorities say a pilot was injured when he crashed a small plane at the Fort Collins-Loveland Municipal Airport.
Battalion Chief Michael Cerovski of the Loveland Fire Rescue Authority said the pilot, whose name and age have not been released, crashed near the main runway at about 2:30 p.m. Friday.
Rescue crews found the plane splintered in pieces with its tail almost completely gone.
There was no active fire when crews arrived, but there was smoke.
Authorities said the man suffered serious, but not life-threatening, injuries.
