Nothing brings family together better than music, and on the Friday before Christmas, Denver’s Nathaniel Rateliff gave hometown fans the gift of two sets at the Ogden Theatre. For his annual holiday show, Rateliff once again showed off the spirit of the Denver music scene, with a packed house at the Ogden. Rateliff is a man of many talents, as he proved on Friday by switching personas from his thoughtful and powerful folk to his foot-tapping, rowdy soul band the Night Sweats. From folk to soul, it was a night of many moods and emotional swings that ended with a bottle of booze and an all-venue sing along of Van Morrison’s “Caravan.”
