Interview with Elizabeth Weber, co-owner

Q: How did you get involved in this business?

A: I wanted to own my own business, and food seemed appropriate. I like breakfast and lunch and being my own boss. There’s nothing like enjoying what you do in life.

Q: What distinguishes you from other businesses in your category?

A: Our food, because it is great home cooking. My mother was a wonderful cook and I hope we do her justice. We are fair in our pricing and give our customers a good value. Top quality is what we are about.

Q: What do you like best about your line of work?

A: The satisfaction of having a restaurant in Golden to call my own and being proud of it. I never imagined being where I am now and I love it.

Q: What is your business’ biggest challenge?

A: Keeping costs down in the slower, winter business months. It’s a challenge to keep a small business running smoothly through the fluctuations of busy and slow times, but I think that challenges help to build character and teach us to learn something new every day.

Q: Something people might be surprised to learn about you or your business:

A: I am not sure I would surprise anyone about anything; just come in and check us out. We do our best to make the restaurant something to be proud of.
