MISSOULA, Mont. — Jordan Gregory scored 24 points Thursday to lead Montana to a 66-48 victory over Northern Colorado in the Big Sky Conference opener for both teams.
Cameron Michael scored 15 points, and Cody Davis had six points and nine rebounds to lead the Bears, who shot just 36.7 percent from the field.
Thursday’s highlight
D.J. Balentine scored 17 points, and Evansville came all the way back from 16 down to beat No. 23 Northern Iowa 52-49. Egidju Mockevicius added 12 points and 13 rebounds for the Purple Aces (11-2, 1-0 Missouri Valley Conference). Jaylon Brown made four free throws in the last seven seconds to seal it.
Women
GREELEY — McCalle Feller scored 21 points and grabbed five rebounds, and Montana beat Northern Colorado 64-58 to open Big Sky play.
D’Shara Strange led the Bears with 16 points.
