A 55-year-old Missouri woman on a trip in Colorado died late Monday of a closed head traumatic brain injury, according to the Summit County Coroner’s Office.

Suzann Pennington had been snowboarding at Copper Mountain before she died.

The Reeds Spring, Mo. woman died just before midnight on Monday night at St. Anthony Hospital in Lakewood.

Editors note: An earlier version of this story incorrectly reported that the coroner’s office said Pennington had suffered a brain injury as the result of a fall while snowboarding.
