A helicopter crashed near the Erie Municipal Airport just after noon Monday, killing both people on board.
The Weld County Coroner’s Office has not released the identity of the two victims pending notification of next of kin, but both victims were adults, according to Amy Tallent with Mountain View Fire Rescue.
“It’s never easy to see these things,” Tallent said.
Crews also had to put out a small fire that started in the grass around the crash site, but no structures were damaged in the crash or fire.
