Former House Majority Leader Amy Stephens has joined one of Denver’s leading law firms and will lead its state government affairs practice.
The Monument Republican will be a managing director for McKenna Long & Aldridge’s Denver office.
“The best part of this is McKenna’s commitment to wanting a government affairs department in Denver and the support they’ve given me in coming on board,” Stephens said today.
Stephens, along with Republican Rep. Frank McNulty, is credited with helping Republicans win a one-seat majority in the 2010 election. During her eight years in office, she helped lead the debate on health care and its impact on businesses and organizations. Critics in her own party dubbed her and unsuccessfully tried to defeat her in .

Stephens has been recognized as “Legislator of the Year” by numerous businesses and organizations in Colorado, including the Colorado Technology Association, Colorado Springs Chamber of Commerce, Colorado Economic Development, Colorado Dairy Farmers Association, National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), Colorado Women’s Chamber and Colorado Mental Health America. She has also been recognized as one of the “Five Rising Stars” of the Republican Party and “Colorado’s Most Influential Women” by The Denver Post.
