The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference is home to basketball players who were among the state’s best in high school. And many of those will be in the spotlight with the start of the RMAC men’s tournament Tuesday night at campus sites.

There are 18 major contributors leaguewide who were selected to The Denver Post’s all-state teams or received honorable mention during their high school days who will be playing in the eight-team tournament.

Metro State (24-4, 19-3), RMAC co-champion with Colorado School of Mines during the regular season, opens its bid for a third consecutive tournament championship at home at 7 p.m. against Colorado Christian (14-14, 11-11).

CU-Colorado Springs leads RMAC teams with five players who received all-state mention in high school. Fort Lewis has four. Metro State and Colorado Mesa each has three.
