An 11-year-old last seen at a busy southeast Denver intersection Thursday afternoon, and who had been as missing for roughly 18 hours, has been found safe.
Sierra Trujillo was last seen at about 3 p.m. on Thursday in the vicinity of East Virginia and Monaco Parkway, which borders an area near George Washington High School.
Police announced at about 9:30 a.m. on Friday that she was found.
Sierra “has been found not far from where she was last seen,” Denver police posted on Twitter. “She is safe. Thank you for your help.”
Police did not release further details in the case.
Investigators do not believe Sierra’s disappearance was connected to the walking home from school in northeast Denver on Wednesday afternoon.
Police say the student, a girl, was able to escape.
