A woman was arrested early Saturday on suspicion of assaulting a Larimer County sheriff’s deputy after authorities say she punched him in the chest and forcefully grabbed “his upper inner thigh.”
Kathren Lucille Secrest, 36, faces several charges including resisting arrest and two counts of third-degree assault. She was released after posting $1,250 bond, the county sheriff’s office said in a news release Tuesday.
The deputy was called out to a home on the 7300 block of View Pointe Circle in Wellington early Saturday on reports of a disturbance.
When he arrived, officials say he found a man bleeding from a cut on his face who reported that his girlfriend, Secrest, was intoxicated and had assaulted him, the release said.
The sheriff’s office says Secrest “ignored multiple orders from the deputy” including his commands when he told her she was being detained. The deputy then grabbed her by the arm and escorted her outside, the office said.
“Secrest pulled away from the deputy and struck him in the chest with a closed fist,” the release said. “Secrest refused commands to put her hands behind her back and was placed on the ground by the deputy and handcuffed. The deputy rolled Secrest onto her side to check her for weapons and she forcefully grabbed the deputy’s upper inner thigh.”
The sheriff’s office said Secrest was arrested on suspicion of assaulting both her boyfriend and the deputy.
