1 A bad trip. A 19-year-old who was arrested March 1 for disobeying and interfering with a police officer had used LSD earlier in the evening. He ran from police at a party in the 1100 block of Eaton Court in Lakewood. He repeatedly shouted expletives at the officers and banged his head on the window of the squad car.
2 U-fight. Two men were cited for disorderly conduct and public fighting Feb. 28 at a U-Haul center at 830 Wadsworth Blvd., Lakewood. One man had apparently blocked the entrance to the facility with his motorhome, and the other honked at him to move. The two began yelling back and forth before a physical fight ensued.
3 Man tries to justify domestic violence. A Lakewood officer responded to a domestic violence in progress between a Native American couple Feb. 24 in the 1800 block of Kendall Street. There were obvious injuries to the woman’s face, and the man admitted hitting her, saying, “It’s OK — we are Indians. It’s what we do.” He was arrested.
4 Not a great workout. A man reported his wallet stolen Feb. 25 from Planet Fitness, 6601 W. Colfax Ave., Lakewood. He said he left it inside an unlocked locker. The wallet contained his New York driver’s license, Social Security card and debit card.
5 Double trouble. A motorist was arrested for DUI and violating a protection order Feb. 27 on South Kipling Parkway near West Florida Avenue in Lakewood. The man admitting to drinking two beers prior to getting behind the wheel; the protection order prohibited him from consuming alcoholic beverages.
